Who made a stone into a pillow? Who was the busy sister? Who did Jesus allow to die ? It has been a long time since you were a child in Sunday School! This class will examine biblical interpretation, church confessions, bible passages and our own personal assumptions regarding issues of sexuality in the church and the world. In order to examine all sides of the issues in the debate over sexuality, the class will use as resources: Frequently Asked Questions about Sexuality, the Bible & Church, Ted A. Smith, editor; Homosexuality in the Church: Both Sides of the Debate, Jeffrey S. Siker, editor; Jesus, the Bible and Homosexuality by Jack Rogers; and the video, Stories of Life and Change: Turning Points in the Church which has been presented on PBS. The goal of this class is to encourage a reformed understanding of biblical interpretation and build a deeper base of knowledge for decision making on this controversial issue.

This is an important time to understand not only our own religion, but those of others. What do followers of the world's largest religions believe? How do those followers view those who do not share their understanding of God? This DVD and discussion series will give a current survey of the history and nature of the world's five major faiths: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism. This course is taught by a world class faculty and three specialists, including Mark W. Muesse from Rhodes College.
