One of Balmoral’s newer programs is the Care Council. This group works to respond constructively to the needs of our members who are in crisis situations such as illness, hospitalization, or death of a loved one. Their responses include arranging for meals, assisting with services at the church, and being available as comforters.
Our congregation is fortunate to have a Parish Nurse. Janet Bartosch is certified to perform this function which focuses on providing health education and personal health counseling to the members of our faith community. In addition, she serves as a health advocate who will: 
- Assist individuals and/or families in decision-making with regard to medical services, treatments and therapy, and care facilities.
- Assist families and individuals with obtaining information regarding an illness, medical problem or upcoming surgery.
- Assist families and individuals in making needed referrals.
- Arrange for and promote programs to the faith community with regard to various health issues through health screenings and testing.
